Solapur : Teachers to go on fast if issues are not resolved

 

A three-day chain fast will be held in front of Zilla Parishad from tomorrow (Monday) on behalf of Zilla Shikshak Sangh to resolve the pending issues of primary teachers in the district, said General Secretary Babruvahan Kashid.

He have discussed the issues of teachers in the district with the Education Officer, made statements, and carried out symbolic agitations. But all this did not yield any success and only promises are made to solve the problem. Meanwhile, pending issues of teachers in other districts of the state have been resolved  last year. Now that the transfer portal has been notified, it will be difficult to resolve the issue.

 "To solve the pending issues of Vistar Adhikaris , promotion of center head, appointment of science subject teachers by rejecting appointment of of social science subject, adjustment of Kannada, Urdu medium headmaster, calculation of deduction of DCPC holders there will be a chain fast on April 20" said Treasurer Appasaheb Deshmukh. The science subject techers have not been recruited for the last five-six years, resulting in loss of students. However, this question is not escaped.

If the pending issues of teachers in the district are not resolved even after a three-day chain fast, the teachers' union workers will start a fast-unto-death at the same place from April 21.

Loss of students due to administration

It is demanded that the issue of appointment of science subject teachers should be solved before the general transfer of 2022. If three years ago, teachers with BSc and 12th Science would have been appointed as science teachers,  many primary teachers would have got B.Sc. However, the Solapur district teachers' union has alleged that the administration's delay has affected the quality of students and the overall quality of education in the district.

Is the teacher's MLA sleeping?

Jayant Asgaonkar, who has become an MLA from among the teachers, is always ready to solve every problem of the teachers. Teachers have to resort to fasting and agitation on the pending issues of last three-four years. All eyes are on whether they will mediate the teachers' questions.
