The Election Commission (EC) has reprimanded Maharashtra's chief secretary and police chief for failing to implement transfer orders of officials before the assembly elections. Despite a directive issued on July 31 to transfer officials who had served over three years, compliance was expected by August 31, yet the state remains non-compliant. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar expressed dissatisfaction with the delays, warning that further inaction would not be tolerated. With elections likely before November 26, concerns about the electoral process's integrity are rising.
